If you are travelling to Canberra to attend ICEMLNI, you will need to make sure you have the proper travel authorisation to do so. It is your responsibility to procure the correct travel permissions to come to Australia.

ETA-Eligible Countries

If you are a citizen/passport-holder of any of the countries below, you are eligible le for an ‘Electronic Travel Authorisation’ (ETA) for entry into Australia. This is a simple and quick mobile App-based application that you make just before travelling to Australia. It has a service charge of A$20. You will need this before embarking to Australia from your home country.

Visa-required Countries

If you are a citizen/passport-holder of a country other than any listed above, you are required to procure the appropriate visa to travel to Australia. Of note to this conference, this includes passport-holders from: India 🇮🇳, Pakistan 🇵🇰, Bangladesh 🇧🇩, and Nepal🇳🇵.

In the vast majority of cases, you will need a ‘Business Visitor stream’ Visitor Visa (subclass 600). ANU can provice a letter of support if required for your application. This visa costs A$195 and allows for up to a 3 month stay in Australia. This application is available online.

If you are unsure if the ‘Business Visitor stream’ visa is appropriate for your passport, you can go through the Australian Department of Home Affairs questionnaire that will help identify the most appropriate visa for you and the means to apply for it.
